The Black Damnation series is a dark twist of Urbain's mind. His idea is to realize a dozen beers with the use of Black Albert over a period of two years, that are as black as hell, filty rich in the nose and with massive taste.
Black Damnation II is yet another blend with the use of Hel & Verdoemenis from Brouwerij De Molen. This time even more complex than BD I.
50% of Black Albert was used that matured for a while on whole coffee beans from a craft Columbian coffee plantation. 25% of Hel & Verdoemenis was used that aged for 6 months on JD barrels. Another 25% of Cuvée Delphine was used.
The result is a black coloured beer with just a sliver of a dark tan head. The aroma is glorious & full of coffee, brown sugar, dark fruity chocolate, and a very faint hint of the JD barrel. Flavours of Hel & Verdoemenis are quite evident, charcoal and mineral notes, chocolate, cocoa powder and beautiful bourbon barrel character. There is a good coffee chocolate finish with great balancing bitterness, hops & sugar in the aftertaste.
